FAQS
If I have medical insurance will you help pay my deductable or copay?
Due to budget issues we will not be able to pay hospital bills. However, we will be able to pay some copays and doctors visits.
Will you pay for all types of medications? We will pay for necessary, prescribed medication once you have been approved for assistance.
How do I apply for assistance?
Please fill out the application located on this web site and mail it to the address provided. Your application will be reviewed as soon as we receive it and a board member will be in contact with you immediately to set up an interview. You may also call 321-696-3015 for assistance with the application process.
Who decides which applicant receives assistance?
We have a board of directors consisting of five members who will decide by a majority vote on which applicants will receive assistance. Each person’s application will be reviewed and an interview conducted. We understand that your need might be immediate and this sounds like a long process but we will do everything possible to speed it up. If assistance is urgent you may call 321-696-3015 to speak with a board member directly.
Where does my donation money go?
Our primary goal is to assist families in need. The majority of your donation, as well as any money collected from fund raising efforts, will go directly to the families. We are staffed completely by volunteers, so no more that 10% of any money donated will go to operating costs.
What type of assistance do you provide? When funds are available we will pay for needed medication, utility bills (electric, water, gas, etc.), provide food and gas cards, as well as rent or mortgage payments.
Do you provide any type of health insurance coverage?
At this time we are unable to offer any type of medical insurance. We are in the process of doing research and working with an insurance agent to find a way to provide affordable health insurance coverage for musicians and their families. We understand this is a desperate need for most musicians and hope to soon have some options for health insurance benefits.
Do you provide assistance for substance abuse treatment and mental health treatment?
We feel these issues are just as devastating as physical illness. If you need assistance with rehabilitation services we will be working with counselors to help provide these services. Please call us and we will do our best to find a program that will assist you at no cost.
Why should I donate to your organization?
You know that really good band you heard last Saturday night? Or the one that played at your friend's wedding? Or the one who plays your favorite song. Just like you they have a family and standing on that stage entertaining you is how they support them. Unlike most of us, they do not have medical insurance, or paid sick leave. Any type of long term illness is devastating to their families. If you have ever stepped into your local bar and been entertained by an awesome band, then this is your chance to show your thanks. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a donation letter for tax purposes.
